TV-Cap: Tom Felton Cast as Series Regular in THE FLASH

TV-Cap: Tom Felton Cast as Series Regular in THE FLASH

I don’t know about all of you, but I’m headed into a three day weekend and Friday cannot go by quickly enough. Need to pass some time? Then you should catch up on all the television news fit to print (or put on the web) in today’s TV-Cap. We have news about Draco Malfoy joining The Flash cast, a look at Gillian Anderson in American Gods, an exclusive image from Mr. Robot, and more.

CSI Buddies. Barry Allen will gain a co-worker in season three of The Flash; another CSI specialist is joining the Central City Police Department roster. Julian Dorn will be played by Tom Felton, best known for his role of Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter. Felton is joining the show in a series regular role. His character Dorn “suspects there’s more to Barry Allen than just his good guy reputation.” Uh-oh. The real question is whether Dorn will have some sort of sinister undertones, as many of Felton’s characters seem to–not that he can only play evil, but there is a pattern. [Nerdist]

Get Scared. Netflix has released a second trailer for the upcoming series Stranger Things, and it puts the emphasis on the strange and the ’80s setting. The case of a missing child leads to a discovery of the impossible and all sorts of supernatural/government weirdness. I’m curious. [IGN, Image: Netflix]

Program This Date. AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire will be back with season three soon. The two hour premiere will debut on August 23, and the story picks up in March 1985 in Silicon Valley. [TVLine]

Gods and Deadites. Starz is returning to San Diego for Comic-Con in July, and they’re bringing a new series and a veteran one. No Outlander this time around, but they will have American Gods and Ash vs. Evil Dead. Get the schedule and room info for the panels at Deadline.

Asking the Question. Gillian Anderson is playing Media in Starz’s American Gods, and she took to Twitter to share the first look at her character. She seems to be rocking a Marilyn Monroe shade of blonde. Ahh! I need this series like I need air. [Gillian Anderson]

Still on the Hook. NBC has ordered a Cruel Intentions pilot, but they didn’t pick up the series… yet. Variety reports the pilot options have been extended, so the show isn’t out of the running. If you’re dying to see more about Kathryn Merteuil and Annette and Sebastian’s son, don’t give up hope. [Variety]

Best Guess. Never watched Game of Thrones? Neither has our very own Ben Bailey. He wrote about what he knows of Westeros based strictly on tweets and headlines he’s seen over the past five seasons, and it’s rather hilarious. Read his summary of the HBO show right this way.

Jaime’s Fate. With his sister-lover on the Iron Throne and all their children dead, what will become of Jaime Lannister? Could he be the one to kill Cersei? As long as you’re caught up on Game of Thrones, read Blake’s thoughts on the Jaime’s future.

Secrets! The above image for season two of Mr. Robot isn’t only a nod to John Trumbull’s Founding Fathers painting, it holds some codes and clues. Yep, the marketing team for the USA series wins. What sort of secrets does the image tell us? Read Alicia’s analysis here at Nerdist and find out.

Do you think Felton’s character on The Flash will have any villainous tendencies? Share your thoughts in the comments.
