TV-Cap: THE FLASH Photos Show off Zoom and He’s Creepy

Happy Friday, everyone! You’re probably in a great mood because an international trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens dropped this morning, and it was packed with new footage and dialogue. I’ll try to keep the good feelings rolling with today’s TV-Cap. This time around we have photos of Zoom from The Flash (they’re basically nightmare fodder), pictures from Jessica Jones, news about a guest star returning to Galavant, and more.

This Is So Intense. More Rashida Jones is something we all need, and we’ll see more of the comedian come January when Angie Tribeca drops on TBS. Season 1 of the comedy will debut on January 17 marathon style so viewers can watch all 10 episodes. Then it gets crazy. Beginning on January 25, TBS will air one season weekly for 10 weeks. Each “season” is a single 30 minute episode, but the episodes are being marketed as entire seasons. No, that’s not confusing at all. [Nerdist]

Murder and the Supernatural. ABC Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family) has nabbed two new dramas. There’s Guilt, a murder mystery about an American in London who is suspected of killing her roommate, and then there’s Beyond, a supernatural story from Heroes creator Tim Kring. It follows a young man who wakes up from a 12-year coma with supernatural powers. [Variety]

Ugh, Politics. In a world where superheroes take to the skies, you have to imagine there are groups that oppose them. Supergirl has at least one anti-alien politician. Senator Miranda Crane will appear in the series, and she’ll be played by Tawny Cypress. As usually happens, Crane might have to suck up her dislike and accept help from Supergirl when National City is attacked by aliens. [TVLine]

Speed Trap. Team Flash will do their best to capture Zoom in next week’s “Enter Zoom.” Photos from the episode show they do have an encounter with the threatening speedster, and he’s scary. The Zoom’s costume design has monster-like qualities that make him more intimidating. Yipes. See more photos from The Flash at TV Fanatic. [Images: The CW]

More Battling. Fighting robots won’t be leaving the screen just yet. ABC has renewed BattleBots for a second season, and it’s bigger and better than ever. The tournament will expand in size and scope. [Deadline]

A Surprise Return. The Originals featured an appearance from Rebekah last night—yes, that Rebekah. Claire Holt reprised her role, and Sydney spoke with The Originals executive producer Michael Narducci about her return. Read the interview here at Nerdist.

We’re the Monks! Filming for Season 2 of Galavant is underway, and guess who will be back? Al Yankovic! He played a singing monk in the medieval musical comedy, and I’m glad to see he’s returning to the monastery. In fact, I hope many of Season 1’s guest stars come back for round two because I want more of Hugh Bonneville as a pirate. [Al Yankovic]

The Consequences. The next episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will see Agent May and company taking action against Lash, who is May’s ex-husband Andrew. That’s awfully unfortunate. Also a thing that’s likely bad news: Ward meets with Gideon Malick (Powers Boothe). See more pictures from the next episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. at Comic Book Resources. [Images: ABC]

The Purple Man. It’s only two weeks until Jessica Jones arrives on Netflix, kids. Who’s pumped? Add to your “need it right now!” feelings by looking at tons of photos Netflix just released from the series. They feature Kilgrave, more of Jessica (obviously), Jeryn Hogarth, and more. See all of ’em at Slashfilm. [Images: Netflix]

What do you think about Zoom’s costume? Let me know in the comments.
