Did anyone else rewatch the Game of Thrones season six premiere last night? That series sure does know how to do bizarre, doesn’t it? Well, buckle in for more of that, because today’s TV-Cap has synopses for the next two episodes—the flashback we’ve been waiting for might finally happen—as well as an interview with the new Doctor Who companion, the full cast list for the Twin Peaks revival, and more.
Synopses and Speculation. HBO has dropped plot descriptions for episodes two and three (airing May 1 and May 8) of season six of Game of Thrones. Let’s read them and then discuss possibilities, okay? Okay!
Episode two, “Home”: Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) trains with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow). In King’s Landing, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) advises Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman). Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night’s Watch stands behind Thorne (Owen Teale). Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) entertains other proposals.
Remember Bran Stark? We haven’t seen the character since the fourth season. It will be nice to touch base with him once again and to see how his Three-Eyed Raven training is going. Elsewhere, I expect Tyrion and Varys have to start turning things around in Meereen—I have a hunch Tyrion is going to step up with his smarts (and possible Targaryen heritage?) and work with Dany’s dragons.
Episode three, “Oathbreaker”: Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift.
Let’s focus on an important part of this description: “Bran meets the past.” Flashbacks have been used sparingly thus far in the series, but with Bran’s developing abilities, I think we’ll be doing some more time hopping. In this case, could it mean we’re finally getting to the rumored/expected Tower of Joy story? This is an important moment in Stark history (maybe in all of the Seven Kingdoms) and is expected to confirm Jon Snow’s parentage. Guys. Is it May 8 yet?

Getting Real. HBO’s released a fresh teaser for their comedy Vice Principals, and the two vice principals jockeying for the main gig do not kid around. The show will debut on July 17. [Nerdist]

That’s… Unexpected. Showtime’s Twin Peaks is going to be bananas. That’s the theory, anyway, and the released cast list seems to confirm it. With this many people, how could it be anything but massive and nuts? (In the best way.) Do any names surprise you? [Nerdist]
Further Escape. WGN America’s Underground hasn’t wrapped season one just yet (the finale will air on May 11), but the network has granted the series a second season.
