It’s Thursday, and as ever, there’s television news to share. the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour is the gift that keeps giving; NBC had panels yesterday and brought news about Heroes Reborn, the Friends cast, and named their next live musical. Continue reading today’s TV-Cap to read about all of that, and you’ll also find an Orphan Black season four trailer, photos from Supernatural’s midseason premiere, and more.

Supernatural

In the Cage. Supernatural’s midseason premiere will air on January 20, and the Winchesters are in danger–you know, business as usual. Lucifer has trapped Sam, and in “The Devil in the Details,” Dean and Castiel will head to Hell to attempt a rescue. Photos from the episode make the situation look intense. Namedropping. NBC’s getting in on the comic book comedy game with Powerless, and IGN talked to network execs Robert Greenblatt and Jennifer Salke about the DC Comics show at TCA. The show is about everyday folk working in an insurance office and living with the superheroes around them. Salke said, “It’s a world where there’s a whole population of superheroes with all sorts of all challenges themselves.” They said recognizable heroes like Superman and Batman could be name-dropped and appear in the background. [IGN]

More Than He Seems. AMC’s Better Call Saul will have a new recurring character when the show returns with season two on February 15. Ed Begley Jr. has been cast as Clifford. He seems friendly and like he could make Jimmy’s dreams come true. Jimmy: Run the other way now because that’s never a good thing. And also, Aaron Paul teased a cameo. Hmm.[Slashfilm]

The Walking Dead

Your First Steps. The Walking Dead is expanding outward. Season six comes back on February 14, and key art teases a larger world. Negan is coming into the picture, and the group of survivors will discover what else is out there. Don’t worry, it will probably all end terribly. [Nerdist, Image: AMC]

Battling Metal. We love to watch robots fighting each other, and studios are catching on. ABC brought BattleBots back over the summer, and BBC Two is making new episodes of Robot Wars. They’re getting a new arena with “more robots, more battles and more science than ever before.” I’m sold. [Nerdist]

Ask Your Questions. Excited about the premiere of USA Network’s Colony tonight? The sci-fi series from Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal stars Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies, and we’re inviting them and more in for a live Q&A session. Tune in to the Before the Wall pre-show at 5p.m. PT at the Nerdist YouTube channel and submit questions on Twitter with the hashtag #NerdistColony.

Live Decisions. NBC is going to continue trucking along with live musicals. The Wiz received a positive critical response, and they’re going to follow it with Hairspray. NBC chief Greenblatt said the way the musical handles race relations and diversity helped pushed it to the top of their list. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Curiosity. Orphan Black gets more complex with each season, and the sestras have entangled themselves in quite the nest. A new trailer for season four emphasizes how far they’ve fallen, and that to go forward, they might have to go back. Will we learn how it all started with Beth? Let’s hope so! [Nerdist]

One and Done. The return of Heroes, Heroes Reborn, is a one-shot event series, but you still had to wonder if NBC would renew it. Greenblatt confirmed that would not be the case at the TCAs. The revival will wrap with the final episode. [Variety]

I’ll Be There for You. Could it be? Could we really get the Friends cast together on the screen for a reunion-like gathering? At the TCAs Greenblatt confirmed the six stars of Friends are into appearing together as part of a two-hour tribute show for James Burrow, a behind-the-scenes legend of sorts. The tribute show is scheduled for February 21. Let’s hope all the logistics work out! [Nerdist]

Being Sneaky. You know what your Thursday needs: a little of Sousa smoldering in a clip from the Agent Carter season two premiere. He and Peggy work together in this snippet to get past a secretary at Isodyne Energy. [Comic Book Resources]
