TV-Cap: Netflix Orders New BLACK MIRROR, JESSICA JONES Teaser, and More

Yes, it’s Monday. No, that’s not my favorite. However, the upshot of it being the first day of the week means there’s a veritable bounty of television news to catch up on. Sit back, enjoy your preferred method of caffeine delivery, and watch a new teaser for Marvel’s Jessica Jones, get the latest on the status of Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, learn about new Black Mirror episodes, and more.

Overrated Alarm Clock. Another teaser for Jessica Jones has arrived, and this time around it sets the scene and introduces us the to lead character in the upcoming Netflix series. You’ll see Jessica’s lack of tidiness and also a display of her super strength. Oh yeah. The series drops on Netflix on November 20. [Nerdist]

Imaginary Friend. Supernatural has taken on all sorts of weird creatures during its run, and in the eighth episode of Season 11, they’ll be meeting Sam’s imaginary friend from childhood. Nate Torrence has been cast as Sully; he shows up because he needs Sam and Dean’s help. Richard Speight, Jr. (The Trickster and Gabriel on Supernatural) will direct the episode called “Just My Imagination.” [Variety]

Picking Up. The second episode of Doctor Who series nine picked up on the cliffhanger from the premiere. “The Witch’s Familiar” found Clara, Missy, and the Doctor in a dangerous position — it would be boring if they were all fine. Read Kyle’s complete review of the episode right this way. Just remember that there are spoilers so make sure you’ve watched the episode first.

Ichabod in Orange. Sleepy Hollow’s Ichabod Crane has found himself under the investigative microscope a few times in the first two seasons of the supernatural series. But in the season three premiere (airing October 1), Crane actually gets arrested. Well, that or he’s celebrating Halloween a month early. [TVLine, Image: Fox]

Yet Another Baddie. Gotham has added at least one more foe to its list for season two. I feel like I’ve typed that sentence repeatedly; I’m convinced they have all the villains ever now. Hitman Eduardo Flamingo will grapple with Jim Gordon and will be played by Raul Castillo. The character will appear in the ninth episode of the current season. [Variety]

Getting Strange. Ready for a very early Christmas present? Netflix is working with Charlie Brooker to make 12 new episodes of Black Mirror. Yes, 12! How wonderful. Booker plans to use the platform to “create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories.” Bring. It On. Netflix and Booker didn’t announce a release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted. A Shattered Illusion. Alexandria was changed the moment Rick and the other survivors arrived in the previous season of The Walking Dead. Season six will continue to explore the relationship between the safe zone residents and the outsiders. A new featurette features the cast and crew discussing what’s ahead in regards to that touchy subject. Season 6 will premiere on October 11. [Comic Book Resources]

Glam in L.A. If you haven’t heard, Marvel’s Agent Carter is switching locales in season two. Peggy Carter is done with New York and is heading to Los Angeles. And by the looks of this mini-poster that will be given away at New York Comic Con, she’s as glamorous and ready to take down nefarious thugs as ever. You can find this poster at the Marvel booth (#1354) at the convention, which takes place on October 8-October 11. [Nerdist, Image: Marvel]

Warning: Game of Thrones spoilers ahead. Stop reading now if you don’t want to know the latest Jon Snow news.

Is He or Isn’t He? Oh boy. Can season six of Game of Thrones just hurry up and get here already so we can stop talking about Jon Snow? Actors keep saying the character is dead, but leaked pictures, etc. from set prove otherwise. A new image shared by The Daily Mail appears to feature Kit Harington on set in Belfast wearing slightly different clothes than we’re used to seeing him don as a member of the Night’s Watch. Has he been resurrected or is the Game of Thrones crew playing an elaborate practical joke? Because I wouldn’t put it past them. [Nerdist]
