New JESSICA JONES Teaser Shows Super Strength

Mornings are the worst. This is true even if you have superpowers. A new teaser for Marvel’s Jessica Jones has arrived and unlike the first promo for the upcoming Netflix series with lovely but vague visuals, this one actually gives us a few facts about our lead. It’s neat because it serves as an introduction with less than a minute of footage. As the camera pans across Jessica’s (Krysten Ritter) room, you can pick up tidbits about the character. She’s a fan of alcohol, she’s not a neat freak, and she isn’t a morning person. Who knows if her days regularly start at 3:00pm, but on this day, she’s not having it–and oh yeah, we see her super strength in action! I feel like smashing my alarm clock into bits almost every day.

In the comics, Jessica has super strength, invulnerability (with limits), and flight. This is the first clue about which powers we’ll see in the series. As Jessica finds her way as a private detective in Hell’s Kitchen after retiring from the superhero life, it will be interesting to see how she wrestles with using her abilities. Besides developing her career, she also suffers from self-loathing and PTSD. So, she’s going through a few things.

Other items on Jessica’s messy floor besides clothes because I had to take a closer look: a peppermint, the classified section of a newspaper, a crumpled, empty bag of chips, photos, a lens cap, an empty bottle of booze, her camera, and empty cases for her camera’s memory cards.

Jessica Jones will arrive on Netflix on November 20.

Head to the comments and tell me your thoughts on the teaser! How many alarm clocks do you think Jessica has destroyed over the years?
