TV-Cap: LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Trailer, A Look at HANNIBAL’S Season 3, & More

Buckle in everybody and grab your headphones. Today’s television news comes with a delicious side of all the trailers and teasers. Your eyeballs are about to be so happy. Scroll onward to see footage from DC’s superhero/villain team-up Legends of Tomorrow, get a look at more action in Supergirl, watch the couch gag from this week’s The Simpsons, and so much more.

Time Travel and Legends. Imagine if a band of superheroes and villains came together, traveled through time, and fought a bigger villain? That’s basically what’s happening in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and oh my stars, it looks glorious. The Atom, Hawkgirl, Captain Cold, Dr. Martin Stein, White Canary, and more team up with time traveler Rip Hunter to defeat Vandal Savage. The first trailer for the upcoming series on The CW is all the fun. I’m so in. [Nerdist]

That’s Different. What’s that, you want a fantastic The Simpsons couch gag? Then this one combining the show with Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty is just for you. It’s a little gruesome and a lot awesome. This special couch gag will air ahead of Sunday’s episode. And before we leave Springfield, we should mention that Harry Shearer — the voice of Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, and others — is leaving the series. The roles will be re-cast, but the series won’t be the same without him. [Slashfilm and Nerdist]

Prepare Your Calendar. If you want one-stop shopping for genre television, you merely have to head to The CW and tell your TiVo to record everything. The network has announced its 2015-2016 schedule, and there are superheroes, zombies, and monsters. Oh my. They’re mostly sticking with the same line-up that’s in place now but are making the smart move of putting The Vampire Diaries and The Originals on Thursday night. See the complete schedule at Give Me My Remote.

Finding His Way. Season 3 of Arrow has seen Oliver Queen make questionable decision after questionable decision. I’ve spent most of the second half of the season wanting to slap him upside the head. But, as it turns out, he had a plan. The Season 3 finale brought it all together and ended in a way I didn’t expect. Relive Ra’s al Ghul’s attack on Starling City and read Kyle’s review of “My Name is Oliver Queen.”

Heat Vision! Six minutes wasn’t enough Supergirl — it was possibly too much, I’m not sure. Either way, there’s a new trailer that’s shorter and edited more tightly. It shows Kara in action against the Lumberjack and using her super awesome heat vision. [Comic Book Movie]

Kappa Serial Killer. Combining laughs and horror isn’t the easiest of tricks, but Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan are trying their hand at it for Fox’s Scream Queens. There’s a sorority house, a serial killer, and Jamie Lee Curtis — what could go wrong? [TV Insider]

The Best of the Best. It’s time for a confession, friends. I haven’t watched Hannibal yet. I’ve heard tremendous things about the series and Mads Mikkelsen’s performance, and it’s on my list. I promise. This Season 3 teaser from NBC is giving me even more reasons to get my act together and catch up. Hannibal returns with new episodes on June 4. [Nerdist]

Technology, Drama, Etc. Can you even handle all the new series and seasons coming our way? USA has at least two original series coming at you this summer — Complications and Mr. Robot — and they’ve released trailers for both of them. Complications debuts on June 18 while Mr. Robot premieres on June 24, and you can watch the promos at Deadline.

The Uncanny Valley. The question of man vs. machine is one of those questions that is constantly being explored in media. AMC’s new eight-part series called Humans offers another take on the problem. The show takes place in a time when the latest tech is a Synth — an artificially intelligent servant that looks almost exactly like humans. Like, Cylon close. The series stars William Hurt (always a plus) and is based on the Swedish sci-fi drama Real Humans. Humans kicks off on June 28.

Who’s excited about Legends of Tomorrow? Give me a show of hand in the comments.
