TV-Cap: Hayley Atwell on Bringing AGENT CARTER Back

One of these days I hope I’ll wake up to news that Netflix has picked up Agent Carter because darn it, the Marvel series needs to continue. That news hasn’t come yet. But, you can read some thoughts from Hayley Atwell on the show in today’s TV-Cap, and you can get an update on the X-Men television spinoff, learn what Melissa Benoist thinks about a relationship between Supergirl and The Flash, and more.

Commitment. ABC took Agent Carter away from us too soon. The show was cancelled after only two seasons. Hayley Atwell, Peggy Carter herself, has taken a gig on another ABC series titled Conviction. But that wouldn’t stop her from reprising her secret agent role. Atwell appeared at MegaCon over Memorial Day weekend and said she’d do “whatever it takes” to film additional episodes of Agent Carter. I’m keeping all the things crossed. [Nerdist]

Blue Lion Found. DreamWorks’ Voltron: Legendary Defender will debut on Netflix on June 10, but we have an exclusive clip to share now. The group discovers the lair of the Blue Lion! You can see some stills from the clip here at Nerdist.

More! Season three of Transparent won’t premiere until the fall, but Amazon has already greenlit season four. More Pfeffermans! [TVLine]

Breaking News. Barry Allen and Kara Danvers slayed our hearts on the Supergirl/Flash crossover. The duo was adorkable and perfect together, but could they ever date? Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) told DC All Access, “I don’t know that they’d ever get together. I think they’re too similar. I think they’re pals, pigging out on ice cream.” I’m still hoping. So Many Powers. FX has placed an eight episode first season order for Legion. The X-Men spinoff will premiere in early 2017. It centers on David Haller (Dan Stevens)–in the comic book universe, he was the son of Professor X. [Nerdist]

Who’s Bad? The speech Daenerys Targaryen gave at the end of the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, “Blood of My Blood,” was inspiring but also a little concerning. Is she turning towards the dark side? Did we see glimpses of the mad king Aerys in Bran’s vision to remind us of what can happen to Targaryens? Jessica Chobot breaks down the possibility that Dany is a villain in Nerdist News. [Nerdist]

Westeros Weaponry Explained. Valyrian steel has been a material mentioned often in Game of Thrones. It’s rare and usually present in family heirlooms; Samwell’s dad had a Valyrian steel sword on display. But what is the special metal? Michael explains in a new History of Thrones installment. Go educate yourself.

Hack This. Need to sit down and concentrate very seriously on a task? Then the Mr. Robot season one soundtrack might be up your alley. Composed by Mac Quayle, the music of the USA series is urgent and mysterious and makes everything Elliot Alderson does more interesting. The digital version will be out June 3, with the CD dropping on June 24. You can listen to the track titled “1.4_2-impenetrable.sd2” exclusively at Nerdist right meow though!
