Team-Up Time. Could it finally be time for a Justice League animated series to return to television? It’s possible. And it could be called Justice League: Action according to a source. A new image taken at Warner Bros. Burbank offices adds some support to the name — the last poster on the right has a “JLA” logo. Hmm. But who will be on the team? Silhouettes in the image suggest Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Shazam, and many more. Get more thoughts on the animated series here at Nerdist.
Misty Knight and Cottonmouth. Apparently it’s just Luke Cage casting news week. The upcoming third Marvel series for Netflix has cast Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes. The character will be an enemy of Luke’s after his activities interfere with Luke’s world. And it’s not confirmed yet, but it certainly looks likely that Simone Missick has been cast as the female lead, Misty Knight (she may be called Missy rather than Misty). Heck. Yes. In the show, she’s “a woman with a strong sense of justice.” [Deadline and Nerdist]
A Powerful Position. Ally Walker has signed on to USA’s Colony in a recurring role. The series from Universal Cable Productions and Legendary Television is set in Los Angeles and showcases a future where the city is occupied by intruders. Walker is slated to play Helena, “a powerful figure in the midst of the occupied Los Angeles who has gravitas, smarts and cool charm.” I love me some cool charm. The show will premiere on January 14. That’s One Way to Go. There’s no question that John Diggle needs a mask to conceal his identity on Arrow, especially now that he has a family to consider. A new image for season four shows he’s taking Oliver’s advice and covering up his face with… a helmet? He looks like Magneto. Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly that Diggle doesn’t really see it as a costume. It’s just practical. I won’t break the news to Diggle if you won’t. [Nerdist]
Hacking Mr. Robot. The Season 1 finale of Mr. Robot has broad implications. A group of hackers changed the world, and I’m not throwing that phrase around lightly. They were able to take digital information and wield complete control. It’s intense, and hey, it’s scary to think about how the scenario would translate to the real world. Round Two. The Netflix original Narcos just dropped on August 28, but Netflix has already renewed the series about Pablo Escobar for a second season. They renewed a lot of their original series slate, so it’s not entirely unexpected. [/Film]

Name on a Door. Many things are changing for the second season of Marvel’s Agent Carter, and that includes a new chief for the S.S.R. Marvel revealed who got a promotion in a tweet yesterday, and I’m thrilled to see it’s Enver Gjokaj’s Daniel Sousa. Yay! If any of the agents we met in season one deserve that promotion aside from Peggy Carter, it’s Sousa. I hope this means he gets to push Agent Thompson around. [Nerdist]
Big Screen TV. There’s a certain amount of charm in watching television and movies on big screens outdoors. Not enough drive-in movie theaters exist in the world, but Adult Swim is giving the number a temporary boost. They’re taking their shows around the country for free drive-in screenings of unaired pilots and specials and more with a side of food trucks, trivia, and prizes. Spewing Sparks. Inhuman Lincoln Campbell has electric abilities, and in Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. he gets a code name. Because why wouldn’t he? He’ll be called Sparkplug. A new video shared on Twitter shows off Lincoln’s many fancy skills. You’ll be able to see more of them when the series returns to ABC on September 29. [Comic Book Resources]
