TV-Cap: CONSTANTINE Officially Dead, GILMORE GIRLS Reunion Highlights, and More

Where are my Gilmore Girls fans? We should be the happiest group of fans today. The creator of the series and several cast members reunited at ATX Television Festival and just the pictures alone made my heart melt into a puddle. I have some highlights from the reunion in today’s TV-Cap as well as news on Constantine, a photo from The Walking Dead Season 6, a Justice League Hyundai TV spot, and more.

Where You Lead. ATX Television Festival hosted a Gilmore Girls reunion panel, and I don’t think I’ve ever been so sad about missing an event. I monitored the #GilmoreGirlsReunion hashtag on Twitter closely because most of the Stars Hollow gang was together again–including Lorelei, Rory, Luke, Dean, Jess, Logan, Emily, Jackson, Lane, and the list goes on. Show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and the cast members spoke for 90 minutes on the creation of the series, casting, the ending, remembered Edward Herrmann, and more. Highlights: Lauren Graham thinks Luke and Lorelai are together. Jared Padalecki thinks Dean would have eventually bought Doose’s Market and turned it into Dean’s Market. Milo Ventimiglia said Logan was a dick. Padalecki said he was Team Jess. Palladino said she thought Alexis Bledel hated her at the audition. There are so many gems and you can read more of them at TVLine.

And in case you need more awesomeness, Hep Alien played and did so mostly in character. Oh yeah. You can watch it here.

Throw in the Lighter. I have some sad news for Hellblazers today. Constantine was canceled on NBC, but the network was trying to find a new home for the series. Fans rallied, but unfortunately, the show is officially done. Daniel Cerone, executive producer and showrunner, has been keeping engaged with fans on Twitter and shared the latest there yesterday. He stated everyone has been released from their contracts. It’s a pity. Matt Ryan was wonderfully suited for the role of John Constantine, and I’m sad we won’t see more. [Nerdist]

It’s Cold in Here. The Season 1 finale of iZombie airs on Tuesday, June 9. The last episode left Major in a bad situation, and pics from the finale show said situation has only become worse. View more photos from “Blaine’s World” at TV Fanatic.

Identity Revealed. Dear Boy Meets World fans: Do you remember Stuart Minkus (Lee Michael Norris)? The character is in the spinoff Girl Meets World, and his son Farkle is friends with Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley. But, the show has made the identity of Farkle’s mother a mystery. She’s a character from Boy Meets World, and Girl Meets World showrunner Michael Jacobs says we’ll learn who it is later this season. While at the ATX Television Festival, he said, “She’s the last person you would believe is married to Minkus. She will be radically different and evolved, and I believe you will love the reappearance of this character.” mm. Who do you think it is? [TVLine]

Prepare Yourself, Litchfield. Is there Pinot Noir in Litchfield Penitentiary? Titus Andromedon is about to find out. A parody from Moviefone inserts the hilarious character from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt into Orange is the New Black, and it’s a mash-up I didn’t know I needed in my life. More, please. [Nerdist]

In the Safe Zone. Another face is joining the survivors in the Alexandria Safe Zone in AMC’s The Walking Dead. Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) has been cast as Heath for Season 6. The character is from the comic books. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Mini Seinfeld Reunion. A new installment of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee features Jerry Seinfeld picking up Julia Louis-Dreyfus for coffee, and things happen but mostly, I’m obsessed with the car. That’s not a sentence I usually say, but it’s James Bond’s 1964 Aston Martin DB5. It’s gorgeous. Once you get past the car sexiness, comedy ensues. [Nerdist]

Superhero Cars Salesmen. Want to buy a Hyundai Grandeur? If you’re not entirely sold on the vehicle, maybe members of the Justice League can convince you. A TV ad airing in South Korea shows Batman, Superman, and The Flash saving the day while also being compared to cars. Sort of. [Comic Book Resources]

With or Without Batman. The world of pop culture is filled with tons of different takes on Batman. Tons. I counted. He’s been Bruce Wayne, he’s been a vampire, he’s been the classic kind of goofy superhero–and even when an adaptation is a straightforward take on the character, actors make each depiction unique. And then Gotham comes along. As Donnie Lederer says, it’s a show about Batman without Batman. Read Donnie’s thoughts on the first season and whether it works as well as other Batman tales.

Do you think Luke and Lorelei are still together? Head to the comments and tell me what you think happened in Stars Hollow after the series finale.
