TV-Cap: ASH VS EVIL DEAD Key Art, THE FLASH Season 2 Promo, & More

Fall television premieres are creeping closer, and one big debut is happening over the upcoming weekend. Fear the Walking Dead will air in mere days—I guess that technically makes it a summer premiere, but I’m going to count it as fall. Keep reading to see a promo with Robert Kirkman for the new zombie series, to watch a brief tease for Season 2 of The Flash, and to see snazzy key art for Ash vs Evil Dead.

Kicking Ash. Starz’s Ash vs. Evil Dead will premiere on October 31, and the series will bring Bruce Campbell back to the role that arguably made him a household name. He’s fighting deadites and he has a team, and new key art shows them side by side along with the Classic. How many times can we say groovy before it gets annoying? [Nerdist]

Always Moving. Ever wonder exactly what a stand-in does on set? Hadley Meares worked as Amy Poehler’s stand-in for four seasons of Parks and Recreation and wrote about the experience for Atlas Obscura. As she describes it, she’s “a moving piece of furniture.” The job sounds tedious but definitely interesting. [Vulture]

AKA Episode Titles. What with Daredevil dropping on Netflix just a few months ago, I keep forgetting Jessica Jones is set to premiere by the end of the year. A Redditor, UnbreakablJimmySmits, has posted a list of what he claims are the episode titles for the series–he got them through a glitch on Netflix. The names don’t sound too spoilery but just in case you don’t want to know a thing, I won’t include them here. You can check them out on Reddit. [Comic Book Resources]

Getting Illusionified. Is there anything Patrick Stewart can’t do? The answer is no. He’s a gift to us all. He recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and tackled a ridiculous magic act with Corden. I’m so charmed I can’t stand it. [Nerdist]

Team Building. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s pilot for Syfy has picked up some cast members I’m jazzed about. Incorporated is an espionage thriller set in the future in a world where companies have unlimited power. Dennis Haysbert (24) has been cast as series regular Julian, a head of security who intimidates those around him, David Hewlett (Stargate Atlantis) will play Chad, a brown-nosing high-level executive, and Ian Tracey (Wayward Pines) will play Terrence, a corrupt businessman.

My Name is Doctor. Hayley Atwell casually teased on Twitter that given the opportunity, she wouldn’t be a companion on Doctor Who, she’d be the Doctor. Damn straight. The innocuous comment made the internet explode for obvious reasons; the primary one being she’d be absolutely brilliant in the role. Watch Jessica Chobot break down why Atwell would be amazing in a recent Nerdist News.

Nothing We’ve Seen Before. It’s the early days of the zombie apocalypse, and we’re going to see it play out in the upcoming spinoff of The Walking Dead. We won’t learn about why the outbreak happens, but we do see it take hold. Robert Kirkman teases the upcoming show in the above video, and if you’re dying to know more, be patient for just a few more days. Fear the Walking Dead will debut on August 23 on AMC. [Variety]

Catch Me. Confession: I have heart eyes for The Flash. It’s currently my favorite comic book series on television, and I’ll take any tease I can get–even if it’s only ten second. The above promo for Season 2 is oh so brief, but it’s a fix. The show returns to The CW on October 6. [Comic Book Resources]

Memory Lane. Settle in for a game of “Do you remember this tune?” Musician Joe tackles 100 television theme songs in this video from Reverb.com. He travels through history from 1930 to the present day, and you’ll likely walk away with a few earworms. It’s worth it though. I promise. Also, while we’re on the topic, tell me which TV themes are your favorites! [Nerdist]
