TV-Cap: An X-FILES Revival Photo, Sideshow Bob to Return to THE SIMPSONS, BOONDOCK SAINTS Series, & More

You know when something sounds too good to be true and you worry it will be taken away at any moment? Silly as it sounds, I felt that way about The X-Files revival. But now, filming is underway so it’s really going to happen. We can all take a deep breath. Keep reading to see a photo from The X-Files set, to watch new trailers for Masters of Sex and Scream, and to see some rather adorable Gilmore Girls meets Parenthood pics.

Chairs! A picture speaks a thousand words and if this one talked, I think it would be saying “Squee!” Or maybe something more eloquent. Who knows? Gillian Anderson shared the image of her and David Duchovny’s Scully and Mulder chairs on Twitter yesterday, and I think I heard The X-Files fandom collectively explode. [Twitter]

Imminent Death. Whenever Sideshow Bob appears on The Simpsons, you can be assured of one thing: he’ll try to kill Bart. But, in this year’s Treehouse of Horror special, it looks like Sideshow Bob will actually succeed. Don’t worry though. The death won’t last past the Halloween special. [Nerdist]

On the Road. The sexual revolution has arrived. It’s 1963 for the third season of Showtime’s Masters of Sex, and a new TV spot teases the challenges Bill Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) have ahead with their book. It also has a little of Masters being snarky, which I’m always a fan of. And hey, look at their Twister-themed poster for Season 3. New episodes premiere on July 12. [Uproxx and Twitter]

Here Be Dragons. The penultimate episode of Season 5 of Game of Thrones is in the rear view mirror, and it didn’t disappoint. It had a shocking, heartbreaking scene but also a victorious one. Feelings, guys — Game of Thrones causes them. Relive all of those feelings by reading Alicia’s recap of “The Dance of Dragons.”

Boyd on TV? DreamWorks Animation has jumped into the saddle and optioned Cow Boy for television. The graphic novel from Boom! Studios is about a pint-sized bounty hunter named Boyd Linney and his faithful horse. The graphic novel by Nate Cosby and Chris Eliopoulos will be adapted by writer Brendan Hay (he’s also on board as one of the executive producers). The all-ages comic is delightful, and I hope it gets through development to the screen. I mean, Boyd has a stick horse that is also a gun. Yep. [Comic Book Resources]

It’s Prequel Time. We’ve seen two films about the MacManus brothers, but now Boondock Saints is heading to television. Deadline reports Boondock writer and director Troy Duffy is on board to write and direct a prequel series for TV. IM Global Television has the rights, and the series would show Connor and Murphy’s origin story. [Slashfilm]

The Person in the Mask. Earlier this week, we saw the first picture of the new killer mask for Scream the TV series. It turns out it looks scarier in action. The latest trailer for the MTV show gives a glimpse of the murders happening in Lakewood. Scream will premiere on June 30. [TV Insider]

The Best Rogue. One of many fantastic aspects about CW’s The Flash is the number of villains Barry Allen has faced so far. Many of them are right from The Flash’s rogues gallery in the comics, and it’s fun to watch them adapted for television. There are so many, it’s hard to name a favorite. DC All Access makes Grant Gustin choose though. Learn Gustin’s picks in an exclusive video right here on Nerdist.

Lorelei’s Choice. The ATX Television Festival did more than reunite the cast of Gilmore Girls. It also opened the door to a meeting between Lauren Graham’s two TV daughters Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) and Mae Whitman (Amber Holt) from Parenthood. Whitman shared a photo of a tense moment on Twitter, but it’s all OK because then they decided to adopt each other. Awww. [TVLine]

What do you think about the Scream series? Are you planning to watch? Let me know in the comments.
