Turns out the Animated 1990s Professor X Is Kind of a Wimp

Over the summer, Professor Charles Xavier showed the world how much of a badass he could be when he teamed up with Wolverine back in time to stop a post-apocalyptic future from ever seeing the light of day in X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, things weren’t always this way for the leader of the X-Men. No, believe it or not, before the time of Bryan Singer’s feature film universe, Professor X was actually kind of a wimp, often times finding himself screaming at nothing and falling out of his floating chair… of course we’re talking about the Professor X of the 1990s X-Men: The Animated Series, and to prove this claim, the fine folks over at Screen Junkies have put together a nice sizzle reel featuring some of the many times The Professor took his wailing just a little too far:

While we’re self-admitted fans of the 90s X-Men cartoon, it’s hard to argue with this rather LOL filled mash-up. That said, there were plenty of times The Professor got his badassary on in the series, like when, you know, he died! Seriously, the 90s animated series pulled no punches when it came to making little boys and girls sob, but looking back on it, there were definitely times The Professor could have gotten in butt-kicker mode instead.

If one poked hard enough, we’re sure a wimpy mash-up could be made for any one of the super-hero cast… except Wolverine. Logan doesn’t do wimp, he just does wacked out crazy.

Do you think Professor X sometimes stepped too far into wimp mode back in the 90s? Let us know in the comments below.

Actually, if memory serves, Wolverine wimped out A LOT in the 90’s cartoon. And has wimped out, gotten teary, gotten mopey or whatever dozens of times in the comics. And all of The Wolverine is him obsessing about a woman he barely knew or had any actual relationship with. The only person he should get that crazy about is Silverfox, if he could remember correctly.

have you read the article? where it says “teamed up with Wolverine back in time?” not “he sent Wolverine back in time.” Wolverine went back in time and teamed up with Professor X, which is exactly what the sentence says.

      ENGLISH. gotta love it.
