Most instances of horror and comedy meshing as film genres come about when a horror movie is so campy, it’s laughable. Check most releases from The Asylum, for example. That’s why it’s great to hear Tucker & Dale vs. Evil‘s Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine are developing a sequel. While at the HorrorHound weekend convention, Tudyk and Labine announced that work is underway on a follow-up, despite initial reports that there wasn’t going to be one.
Let’s hope it won’t be too long before there’s more hilarious mistaken-identity chainsaw-ridden carnage on the way from Tucker & Dale vs. Evil 2.

FlavelC, I don’t see how a bad sequel would ruin the first one. The first one was amazing and stands on its own. No matter how bad (or equally amazing) a sequel is, it will not have any impact on the original. I hate when people say dumb things…

love the first one, it would be interesting to see where they go with it but I hope they don’t go stupid with it, ruining the first one.
Maybe they’ll have them VS. something else.
Maybe they could be in a “haunted house” and have a weird playoff or maybe a bigfoot hunt goes wrong?
I’m a bit nervous for this. I honestly don’t see how they can make a sequel that would make any sense. Are they going to stumble into ANOTHER crazy misunderstanding? I don’t think there is anything wrong with a great stand-alone movie.
That being said, I will totally watch the sequel and I really hope it is good.
