Trock U Like a Time Vortex

There’s an underground movement of indie rock entitled “Trock,” or “Time Lord Rock,” which, as you might guess, is rock music about Doctor Who. It’s pretty awesome. The pioneering Trock band is Chameleon Circuit out of the UK. Here are a couple of their hits (videos made by users.) Enjoy the shit out of them.

I agree with Wafa. Where’s our Harry and the Potters post? Or a post about the Annual Yule Ball held at the Middle East in Boston every year since 2005? There are so many wrock bands out there, you’d be surprised.

Dr. Who is in my head!! I watched blink for the first time about 2 minutes ago and i’m watching the blink video now. Trippy

  12. PHil. says:

Sounds good, but I doubt they’ll have the success of the Timelords with Doctorin’ the Tardis, despite a lot more originality in the work. (They probably weren’t working from The Manual). Dr. Who as an inspiration for music doesn’t start with being inspired by Wrock.

  13. John Anealio says:

Check out this compilation of awesome Dr. Who inspired music over at Hipster Please! http://www.hipsterplease.com/2010/04/visitations-musical-tribute-to-doctor.html

Charlie from Chameleon Circuit does an acoustic ukelele version
of Exterminate Regenerate that’s amazing. His channel is charlieissocoollike‬‎. Highly recommended!

  15. mRuss says:

I look forward to the new movement of Prock, where all the songs are about male genitalia. I just don’t want to think about what the band names will be. Wait.. actually, yes I do.

  16. Wafa says:

OMG!! I am so super excited b/c of this post. I remember when Alex (from Chameleon Circuit) first vlogged about Trock. I think you need to post about Wrock (wizard rock= Harry Potter) next b/c that is where Alex got the idea for Trock.

  17. Stephen P. says:

  21. Joshua_M1001 says:

Great post and thanks for the reminder about Chameleon Circuit, so fun and great expression of love for Doctor Who. You should get a person from Doctor Who to be on your podcast, that would be “fantastic!”

Oh, the memories. Will those robotic Nazis ever truly die? David you will be missed (tear drop).
