Trailers from Hell and Spoke Art Present INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS

Jack Finney’s 1955 novel The Body Snatchers has continually proved to be one of the most influential sci-fi texts in history, and also one of the most filmable. The book about pod people taking over and replacing humans, a comment on the rampant Red Scare of the Cold War, has been brought to cinemas four times, in 1956, 1978, 1993, and 2007. And three of those are good! The first two, Don Siegel’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers in 1956 was one of the best examples of ’50s alien horror and Philip Kaufman’s remake in 1978 was just as scary, and some would argue even scarier. It’s these two landmarks that make up a double feature presented by our friends at Trailers From Hell and Spoke Art.

This Friday, April 10th, at the Roxie in San Francisco, there will be a screening of both films beginning at 7:00pm. The ’78 version will also feature a Q&A with director Philip Kaufman moderated by Batman screenwriter, and Trailers From Hell guru, Sam Hamm.

As if that weren’t enough awesome, there will also be two brand-new posters designed by two highly acclaimed artists. Chuck Sperry tackled Kaufman’s ’78 film and David Moscati created the one for Siegel’s ’56 film. We can EXCLUSIVELY reveal Moscati’s poster right here!

Pretty grand, eh? You can get this print at the event, 24″x36″, signed and in an edition of only 100 copies.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at this link. If you live up in the San Francisco area, this would be a night of paranoia you shouldn’t like to miss…because YOU COULD BE NEXT!

And, enjoy the trailers for both films as presented by Trailers From Hell.
