Trailer for VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN Starring McAvoy and Radcliffe

Tired of the old Frankenstein, with the same old Igor lurching his humpback around, and the same plodding monster slowly meandering amongst the villagers? Well if so I have good news for you: this November you can see the newest version of the classic novel with 20th Century Fox’s Victor Frankenstein, starring James McAvoy in the title role and Daniel Radcliffe as a much less physically-impaired Igor.

The new trailer for the film, set to be released November 25, promises a much more action-packed telling of the classic Mary Shelley horror story of a scientist who desires to play god.

Whereas the classic image of Frankenstein’s monster is one of a slow, ungraceful creature, the trailer shows creations that seem much more nimble, and in turn much more able to chase you, than past iterations. The film also boasts some impressive, sweeping shots of scientist’s laboratory. Of course, that one close-up of the monster taking its first breath will be the one that lingers.

Alongside the first trailer the studio also released the movie’s first official poster. Like the trailer it promises a story that is just as much about the relationship between the two (much younger than normally cast) men who set on the endeavor to create life from nothing.

The film also stars Jessica Brown Findlay, Andrew Scott, and Freddie Fox. It is directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin), and was written by Max Landis, who also penned the film American Ultra, opening this Friday, August 21.

So what other classic horror stories would benefit from a re-imagining? Give us some ideas right here in the comments section, and don’t miss our interview with Daniel Radcliffe from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
