TONY HAWK’S PRO SKATER 5 Soundtrack Skimps On Ska, But Has Plenty Of Jams

It’s been thirteen long years since we’ve been treated to a new game in the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise. Titles like Tony Hawk’s Underground, Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam and a bunch of other deviations from the core series have hit shelves since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 was released in 2002, but they’ve all lacked the sort of magic–and absurd unlockable characters like Darth Maul and Wolverine–that made the core games an unreal amount of fun.

A significant portion of franchise’s charm were the soundtracks, which were often the first exposure to ska, punk, and other skate-associated music to gamers who didn’t board IRL. The soundtrack for the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 was revealed today, and it seems the game’s music has moved on with the times.

That means no “Superman” by Goldfinger or “Not The Same” by Bodyjar, but there’s an exciting amount of diverse music to score our new airborne adventures. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 has Minnesota-based hip-hop from Atmosphere and DOOMTREE, instrumental electronic rock from Ratatat, modern guitar jams from Royal Blood and Cloud Nothings, and—of course—some punk courtesy of Anti-Flag and The Orwells.

Check out the complete tracklist below, listen to all the songs on our YouTube playlist below, and let us know in the comments what you think about the song selection for the latest true Tony Hawk game.
