Did Tom Holland Spoil a Secret Villain For SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME?

Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home!

Thanos may have gained near infinite power by the end of Avengers: Infinity War, but not even the Mad Titan can stop Tom Holland‘s endless stream of spoilers. Getting dusted by Thanos was only a slight inconvenience for the MCU’s Spidey, since he will be back in Spider-Man: Far From Home next year. Now, Holland has once again posted a video that may have revealed the presence of a secret villain in the sequel. Today’s Nerdist News is diving into the potential big screen debut of Hydro-Man!

Join J. Jonah Jameson’s favorite host, Jessica Chobot, as she examines Holland’s video for clues. Essentially, it’s a clip where Holland joked about doing his own stunts while his stunt double was blasted by a powerful stream of water. That’s definitely Hydro-Man’s M.O., and you can think of him as a reverse Sandman. Hydro-Man’s body can transform into water and he controls his flow with the power of his mind.

Of course, this could simply be a random burst of water…except Hydro-Man’s presence in this movie was already rumored from a previous report. The word is that Marvel showed off some concept art behind closed doors that featured Hydro-Man fighting Spidey in the canals of Venice. And we can’t help but notice that Holland’s video also appears to be set in Venice.

We don’t expect Hydro-Man to displace Mysterio as the main villain of Far From Home, but he could be a good second tier bad guy for the film. Also, Crazy Rich Asians star Remy Hii was just signed to a role in the Spidey sequel, and we think he would make a great Hydro-Man. We expect to learn more before the sequel hits theaters next summer.

What do you think about the potential appearance of Hydro-Man in the next Spider-Man film? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
