Tom Hiddleston Talks About Loki and KONG: SKULL ISLAND

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is easily the most popular villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his appearances in Thor and The Avengers. But the ending of Thor: The Dark World left Loki in the unusual position of having finally seized the throne of Asgard, which will presumably play into the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.

While promoting his next film, Crimson Peak, Hiddleston made it sound like he wasn’t sure when or if he would reprise his role as Loki. But he did state that his take on Loki wouldn’t become a one-dimensional villain.

“I think I won’t be able to help it if I ever play [Loki] again, and I just don’t know when that’s gonna happen, if that’s gonna happen,” said Hiddleston. “I would never lose his dimension, but it’s so interesting. I’ve talked with Chris Hemsworth, how those characters have changed as we’ve changed. It’s five years ago since I played him for the first time. That’s a long time ago. So who knows what I’ll be cooking up!”

Hiddleston also touched upon Kong: Skull Island, the King Kong prequel movie that was recently moved to Warner Bros. to help facilitate a crossover movie with Godzilla. Hiddleston was asked why the natives of Skull Island built a King Kong-sized door in a wall that was designed to keep him out.

“There will be an answer to that question,” replied Hiddleston after he laughed at the question. “Yeah. Yes. Jordan Vogt-Roberts has a really interesting take on the whole thing, and it’s really new and original. It doffs its cap to the mythology but also takes it into a new place which I hope you will find exciting.”

Kong: Skull Island will be released on March 10, 2017, while Thor: Ragnarok will follow on November 3, 2017.

Marvel fans, do you think that Hiddleston’s Loki will be the main villain in Thor: Ragnarok? Or will someone else emerge to challenge Thor and Loki? Share your predictions in the comment section below!
