Tituss Burgess and John Stamos Sang THE LITTLE MERMAID’s “Kiss The Girl” on THE LATE LATE SHOW

“If you had the ability to fly, and you could fly for over a thousand miles, at any height that you wanted to, which destination would you avoid?”

I’ve watched this clip five times now, and I still have no idea how that strange question from Reggie Watts turned into a rendition of “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid, but damn if that weird sequence wasn’t a total delight.

On The Late Late Show with James Corden, the big-haired band leader asked that switcheroo-style question to John Stamos and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt‘s Tituss Burgess. Stamos answered the actual question by saying he’d like to avoid Watts’ hair, but then the two guests and the host simply said where they would go: Corden would fly off to check in on his old English teacher’s bedroom to see if his 15-year-old mind matched up with reality, Burgess said he’d head to the Carters’ kitchen to try some of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s lemonade, and Stamos wanted to go to way down to Kokomo, where we assume he always wants to go.

Then, in a segue that made it feel like a scene was deleted from the episode, Stamos asked Burgess, a Broadway musical veteran, to sing with him. At first Burgess was reluctant, but then he went into a very beautiful rendition of “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid, with Corden, himself an experienced vocalist, and Stamos, the former lead singer of Jesse and the Rippers, joining in.

This sounds like a mad-lib come to life, but the only downside was they didn’t sing the entire song. We’d like to fly to whatever place has that happening.

What unlikely song choice would you have liked to hear these three sing? Let us know in our comments below.
