Titan’s New TORCHWOOD Comic Will Debut at Comic-Con 2016

Torchwood fans, your long wait for new adventures is almost over. But it will be an even shorter wait if you’re coming to San Diego Comic-Con later this month!

Titan Comics has announced that the new ongoing Torchwood book will launch at SDCC 2016 with a convention exclusive cover of Captain Jack Harkness by veteran illustrator Tommy Lee Edwards. Additionally, Captain Jack himself, John Barrowman will be on hand to promote the new series, which will be written by Barrowman and his sister, Carole E. Barrowman.

The Barrowman siblings will be on a Torchwood panel on Saturday, July 23 at 3:30PM in room 5AB, where they will discuss their plans for the title. But fans can pick up the first issue at any time during the con at Titan’s booth # 5537.

Antonio Fuso and Pasquale Qualano are the artists of the Torchwood comic, which will be in continuity with the Big Finish Torchwood audio dramas. It’s not clear if Rex Matheson, the lone surviving new character from Torchwood: Miracle Day will return, but Captain Jack, Gwen Cooper, and Gwen’s husband, Rhys will all be back together in the comic which deals with some lingering tension between Jack and Gwen.

Fans who can’t make it out to San Diego will be able to pick up Torchwood #1 at comic stores everywhere starting Wednesday, August 3.
