Three More STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS TV Spots

I haven’t done any of the math on this, and I’ll be damned if I attempt to now, but I would guess that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the most advertised movie of all time. After months of little nuggets or teasers, we’ve gotten a full-blown media blitz basically since Force Friday ushered in all the new toys and games. It’s like Disney and Lucasfilm are trying to cram a whole year’s worth of ads into the final days, and with only five days to go as of this writing, the hype is at a Tusken Raider pitch (those guys scream a lot).

We now have three, yes 3, new TV spots for the movie which have been airing all weekend during various sporting events and programming. The first two (apparently the 20th and 21st such spots) are above, and pretty much just show a little more of scenes we already know about, including Rey (Daisy Ridley) flying the Millennium Falcon whilst Finn (John Boyega) guns, and also Han Solo (Harrison Ford), also in the Falcon, calling it “baby” and asking it not to let him down.

But that’s not all! There’s another TV spot as well:

This one I don’t just like, I LOVE, and it’s not because of the footage we see, which is still cool no matter how many times I see, but because in its 30 seconds it uses the piece of John Williams score called “The Throne Room,” from the end of A New Hope where Luke and Han receive their medals and Chewbacca decidedly doesn’t. That might be second only to “Imperial March” in terms of music cues from the trilogy that make me feel awesome. An excellent choice for scoring, I’d say.

In case you needed reminding, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in theaters on December 18.

What do you think of these TV spots? Can you even take it anymore? Let us know in the comments below!
