Forget THE AVENGERS, Meet THOR: RAGNAROK’s Revengers in New Video

In Norse mythology, Ragnarok represents the destruction of the old gods and the fall of Asgard. Fortunately, Thor: Ragnarok has a much lighter take on the godpocalypse because unlike his mythological counterpart, Thor’s got a brand new superteam to prevent the end of all things: the Revengers!

Although as mentioned in the new Thor: Ragnarok video featurette below, they’re still working on the name.

Thor’s come a long way since his MCU debut, as he didn’t feel the need to call his fellow Avengers for help during the events of Thor: The Dark World. This time, the son of Odin recognizes that he can’t defeat Hela by himself, and he’s brought together the Revengers out of necessity. Given the name that he picked for the team, it’s almost as if Thor likes the idea of having his very own Avengers. However, the video demonstrates that Thor is less than clear about his new team’s common goals.

Truthfully, any team with Valkyrie and the Hulk on it probably has a greater claim to calling themselves the Defenders than any of Marvel’s Netflix heroes. Doctor Strange is already in this movie, so it’s just a Prince Namor or a Silver Surfer away from being an actual Defenders film. But given the enthusiastic early response to Thor: Ragnarok, it seems entirely possible that these characters could team up again at some point post-Avengers: Infinity War.

Thor: Ragnarok will storm into movie theaters on Friday, November 3.
