THOR: RAGNAROK’s Cast Surprised a Movie Audience with a Live Performance

Imagine you were seated comfortably in a movie theater, finally watching Thor: Ragnarok after months of insane hype and anticipation. Imagine that a few minutes into the movie, James Corden‘s face appeared on screen to tell you he was interrupting the film. How angry would you be? Have they invented words to describe such fury? We ask because that nightmare actually happened to a group of movie goers.

But rather than being the unluckiest people in America, they got to see something that made every other showing of the film pale in comparison: Corden brought out Ragnarok‘s entire all-star cast to perform a live “4D” showing of the movie.

Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Mark Ruffalo all showed up at the Pacific Theatres at the Grove in Los Angeles to act out the movie with all the enthusiasm and budget of a high school play. Truth be told, Blanchett seemed to regret the whole ordeal, but Goldblum—whom I imagine brought that scooter from home—more than made up for her frustration with his excitement.

Warning: Technically this is a spoiler, but live a little.

For as much fun as all of that was, and as amazing as it must have been to be in that audience, the most hilarious part of all of this is the reaction Corden got when he first appeared on screen. I know I was so amped up to see the movie last night that if I had been there I would have been arrested before all the good stuff happened.

Is this new “4D” movie experience the future of cinema? No, obviously not, as the cast would get exhausted. But don’t worry. The old-fashioned movie version of Thor: Ragnarok is just as much fun as this live shtick. Plus it has better CGI, and Cate Blanchett seems much happier to be involved.

How would you have reacted to Corden interrupting the movie? What about when the cast came out? Ragnarok out in our comments section below with your thoughts.
