This Week at NerdMelt!

Hello and happy December everyone! It’s time to coast into the end of 2011 with some holiday shopping, some charity comic booking, and tons more!

Tonight at 6pm, it’s The League of Extraordinary Ladies Craft Fair!

Get your holiday shopping done by shopping small and shopping nerdy with the League of Extraordinary Ladies Craft Fair!

FREE ADMISSION!

Saturday at 6pm is the Justice League of America 100 Event!

Not only will there be amazing comic book artists in attendance, and not only will you be able to see all 104 original Justice League of America #50 Hero Initiative covers, but you’ll be able to bid on the first 35 of them! The event will be FREE, but the bidding will cost you!

And if owning an original JLA cover doesn’t appeal to you (but really, it should), both hardcover and softcover editions of The Justice League of America 100 Project, a book collecting all the covers, will be available for sale as well!

Scheduled to be at the signing: Norm Rapmund, Bill Morrison, Scott Koblish, Tone Rodriguez, Chris Moreno, Mark dos Santos, and Mike Kunkel!

FREE!

Sunday at 7pm, it’s Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani have both dropped in), and the magic that is live comedy.

FREE

Monday at 8:30pm, it’s Telethon!

Feeling nostalgic for the ’80s? Join us for Telethon!, a comedy variety show set in the 1980s featuring live sketch, video commercials, stand-up and musical acts.  Produced and written by NerdMelt crew with members of Family Sandwich!

This months theme: “Save Murder Woods”. Featuring Beth Stelling and Tyler Greene!

$8 in advance, $10 at the door

Wednesday at 8:30pm, it’s The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

Our weekly standup show, hosted by Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani, welcomes Myq Kaplan, Rob Delaney, Greg Behrendt and more!

$8!

And on Thursday at 8pm, it’s the return of Imaginary Radio Program!

Drennon Davis is back with one of our favorite regular shows that is a creative and hilarious look at that old standby: the radio. You’ll see some of LA’s best comedians/musicians/performers as they parody all the ridiculous talk shows, commercials, and terrible music on the airwaves. The Comedy Bureau says of this show that it “not only lives up to its name, but exceeds expectation in what you could possibly think it is.”
Featuring Maria Bamford, Melissa Villasenor, Eliza Skinner, Monique Moreau, and MC Mr Napkins!
$8 in advance, $10 at the door!
That’s all for this week, but we’ve got so much more fun stuff coming up until we shut down for the holidays. Check with our site and our Twitter account for more info!

I was already depressed about NerdMelt being in LA and not Seattle. This is making things much worse for me.
