This SIMPSONS/MAKING A MURDERER Parody Trailer is Pure Genius

By now, you have probably watched — or at the very least, heard of — Netflix’s ten-part documentary series Making A Murderer. The highly addictive serial, which took a decade to make, is literally what the practice of so-called binge watching was made for. When the show dropped on Netflix last December, many of us stood transfixed before our televisions over one long weekend, devouring every last detail, mostly with our jaws on the floor the whole time.

The docu-series covers the story of Manitowoc, Wisconsin native Steven Avery, who spent eighteen years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit until DNA evidence eventually exonerated him. Upon his release, he planned a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the local police department for putting him away, but then he was suddenly arrested for another, even worse crime. And that’s where, pardon my French, shit got real. If I say anymore about this series, I’m giving away too much for those who have yet to watch it. Seriously though, If you haven’t seen it yet, do so right away and be prepared to scream at the TV.

Of course, when anything hits the popular culture that fast and hard, parodies will inevitably follow, and Making A Murderer is no different. Now the folks at Vulture have given us our best one yet, by taking twenty-five years of The Simpsons clips — specifically ones from the beloved “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” episodes — and collated them to make an amazing spoof of the original trailer for the Netflix series. The result is absolutely pitch perfect. And it’s also a testament to the power of The Simpsons, as this is just a gag video made of re-edited footage from the show…and you still manage to feel sorry for Homer somehow.

What do you think of the trailer? Are you still obsessed with Making A Murderer like I am? Let us know in the comments below!
