This Silicon Finger Guard Transforms Any Stick Into a Sword

Kids today—with their fancy video game systems and new-fangled technologies—don’t know what it’s like to use their imaginations. In my day we only had wooden sticks and cardboard boxes to entertain ourselves when we lost power and couldn’t play our video games. Well, if you’d like to see the youth of today head outside a little bit more and entertain themselves with only a little creativity, get them one of these silicon finger guards to help transform a wooden stick into a majestic sword.

Originally designed by Naama Agassi in 2011, these simple but cool little sword finger guards are now for sale from Monkey Business. You simply put it onto the end of a stick and you have something Arya might carry around with her. The Nature Sabre-sword Creator will run you 11 dollars and comes in three different colors: red, blue, and grey.

The really great thing about this little toy is that it does not fully replace the role of a kid’s imagination. If anything it feels like this could push a child to find more creative items besides a stick to turn into an epic sword that they’ll brandish during a duel with their little brother (until mom yells at you that someone will get hurt AND WE ARE JUST PLAYING MOM!). My only wish is that they’ll also make them fit cardboard tubes, since it is scientifically impossible to pick one of those up and not swing it around like you are King Arthur.

Have any other ideas for how to use this besides with a wooden stick? I think I’d used them on my spatula and pretend I’m fighting my omelet. Give us your suggestion in the comments below.
