Wait, what? Whether you’re planning on indulging in Madden 16 this year or you’re not into sports games at all, you should put all of your feelings aside for the ludicrousness you’re about to behold. These Madden commercials are getting progressively more and more absurd, and it’s become quite clear that the Madden marketing team doesn’t take their video game TV spots too seriously. I have zero quarrels with this. Given that there isn’t much, outside of new features, to tout about the Madden series–which has released annually for more than two decades–the decision to release these attention-grabbing pre-launch adverts is a brilliant move on EA’s part.
Dave Franco returns in this year’s trailer–keenly titled Madden: The Movie–along with Christopher Mintz-Plasse, as well as NFL stars Julio Jones, Rob Gronkowski, Colin Kaepernick, Antonio Brown and Rex Ryan. If you thought that last year’s Kevin Hart and Dave Franco musical foray couldn’t be topped, you thought totally wrong. Check out the crazy Madden ad (if you haven’t already) at the top of the page.
What did you think of this year’s Madden 16 trailer? Was it enough make you drop $60 on this year’s edition? Does it contend for most ridiculous video game advert of all time? Scramble with your thoughts down to the comments below.
