This LEGO Imperial Base is Ready to Rule all of Tatooine

Tatooine is part of the Outer Rim planets in the Star Wars universe. Its desolate wasteland was never really acknowledged by the Galactic Republic, and even the Empire only went there when they had too. That’s why for the longest time if you lived on Tatooine, you answered to the Hutts in some way shape or form. Well, LEGO builder Nikolai Mordan has taken it upon himself to force new Imperial occupation of Tatooine in this awesome custom LEGO piece.

As you can tell, a lot of detail was put into this design. If this base was established during A New Hope, I feel that at least ONE of the plethora of stormtroopers here would have said “Derek…DEREK!!! These ARE the droids we’re looking for!” You know how there’s that stormtrooper named Derek?

This particular angle reminds me of the base the Empire had on the forest moon of Endor. (Anyone else find it weird that they called it that like 6 times during the movie?) If they had attempted to build the second Death Star on Tatooine, the wide open spaces would have caused them to see the Rebels from MILES away, making defense a little easier. Instead, they chose a moon that could hold the world Hide-and-Seek championships.

By the look of the detail Nikolai put into this great design, he had those same thoughts as well, and decided to show us what working SMARTER not HARDER would have looked like.

So what do you think? Are there any Star Wars set pieces you want in Lego form but haven’t seen yet? What was the set YOU had the most fun building? Let me know on Twitter or find the door is locked and move on to the comments below.
