This Hot Tub is Made Entirely From Ice

When you live in an area where temperatures can drop to -10 degrees or colder, sometimes you have to find creative ways to pass the time. Lauri Vuohensilta and Anni Vuohensilta have built their Beyond the Press YouTube channel performing experiments and stunts in the bitter cold, including blowing up a snowman and plunging red-hot steal into a frozen lake. For their latest video, the couple ventured out to Lake Näsijärvi in southern Finland in order to demonstrate the world’s first ice hot tub.

Via Laughing Squid, Lauri and Anni took the time to explain the steps they took to create the ice hot tub. They also weren’t shy about revealing a previous failed attempt, including the footage that went with it. There was no plastic or steel used in their final creation, but the opening was only small enough to allow Anni inside the tub.

After the first test run, the opening was big enough for Lauri to make his attempt to withstand the extreme heat of the water and the chill of the ice. But while Anni was able to endure for five minutes, Lauri didn’t seem to last quite as long. Additionally, the ice hot tub finally began to develop small leaks from its exposure to the hot water.

What do you think about the ice hot tub? Would you want to take it for a spin? Let us know in the comment section below!
