This HARRY POTTER/THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer is Perfectly Magical

We’re now only about two weeks away from the home media release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Maybe you’ve heard of it? It’s only the highest grossing movie in American box office history. You’d think by this point, four months after release and with a new Star Wars movie on the horizon for this coming winter, we’d be done with mash-ups of the trailer. And yet, nope, we’re getting more all the time– and you know what? They’re still super great! Could it be the TFA trailer is the most perfect in cinema history?

YouTuber Jonny Holloway has graced us with a trailer for the fifth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, cut in the same pacing as that iconic Force Awakens trailer, and, perhaps more importantly, set to that amazing and evocative John Williams score. I mean, Williams did write “Hedwig’s Theme” that was used in Order of the Phoenix as well, but that Star Wars music is really what stirs our emotions.

The coolest thing about this mash-up is how well it lines up with The Force Awakens. You have the Death Eaters with their creepy black masks which look an awful lot like Kylo Ren, you have brightly colored scenery and buildings, you have the freaky magic dreams by the main character, you have an aging mentor figure who’s also pretty good at being a badass, and you’ve got the general battle between good and evil. Heck, you also have magic wands standing in for lightsabers. And flying things! It’s all there.

It’s been a really long while since I’ve watched this Harry Potter movie, and I gotta say, Holloway’s trailer treatment really makes me want to revisit it. Pretty gorgeous. Maybe I can play the whole The Force Awakens score during it. Do you think it’ll match up perfectly like The Wizard of Oz and The Dark Side of the Moon?

How much do you love this mash-up? Will we, in fact, ever get tired of watching these? Let us know in the comments below!
