The WONDER WOMAN Costumes Are On Display in Las Vegas

She’s still, as the ’70s theme song had it, fighting for your rights, but the big-screen Wonder Woman has moved way past satin tights. At the Licensing Expo currently running in Las Vegas, Warner Bros. Consumer Products brought out some of the outfits from the upcoming WW movie to display for the first time, and clearly, fans were anxious to get photos of–and with–them.

Gal Gadot‘s outfit doesn’t look tremendously different from her Batman v Superman gear, save for the addition of a large cape and some shoulder straps, but this our first really good look at the garb of Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) and the helmets, shields, and arrows of the Amazons. It’s what you’d expect from Wonder Woman’s mother: similar design, less colorful, a touch more modesty. Chris Pine‘s Steve Trevor outfit is the one we’ve seen in set photos and makes it clear he either hails from a significantly colder climate than the warrior women or is just much more sensitive to temperature changes because that sweater looks thick.

Conspicuous by their absence, arguably, are any villain costumes. Who will Diana be fighting? In BvS she says she’s fought creatures from other worlds before, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she will in her origin story. In the only footage we’ve seen, some German soldiers get badly hurt, but even the Kaiser doesn’t seem like much of a match. Obviously, Warner Bros. isn’t ready to spill the beans yet, but they’ve got time–the movie doesn’t open until 2017. In the meantime, feast your eyes on what they have shown in our mini-gallery below.
