THE WALKING DEAD Cast on Season 7, That Tiger, and More

While The Walking Dead panel may not have yielded any clues as to who is going to get intimately acquainted with Negan’s trusty baseball bat Lucille, we did get a look at a metric ton of new footage in a special season 7 trailer during their Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Among the trailer’s many reveals were first looks at the Kingdom, its leader Ezekiel (played by Khary Payton), and his trusty sidekick, a gigantic tiger named Shiva. Yes, you read that right. There will be a live tiger on season 7 of The Walking Dead, a sentence that sounds almost too ridiculous even for a show where the dead have come back to life.

Naturally, when the cast of The Walking Dead came by Camp Conival at Petco Park, I had to quiz them about the truly important things, like what we can expect from the scope and scale of season 7, whether they actually had a live tiger on set, and if Carl will ever find another can of roof pudding. Fingers crossed on that last one. The cast–which included Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Sonequa Martin-Green, Christian Serratos, Chandler Riggs, and Ross Marquand–had to be tight-lipped about who exactly would be returning, but they had quite a bit to say about just how expansive the world of The Walking Dead is about to become, as well as just what a diva that tiger turned out to be.

What do you hope to see in The Walking Dead season 7? Let us know in the comments below.
