Last month, Telltale Games finally revealed that its third season of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series would hit in just a few weeks. But at the 2016 Game Awards, Telltale made a more surprising announcement. The first two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier will make their digital debut on Tuesday, December 20th!
Telltale also unveiled an extended preview for A New Frontier, which introduced Javier, the new player controlled character. In the footage, Javier raced to his grandmother’s home to be with his family during his grandfather’s final hours, only to discover that he arrived too late. But this was apparently at the very beginning of the zombie apocalypse, as Javier and his family later discovered that their loved one wasn’t quite as dead as they thought he was. That means that more members of his family will be dead before the night ends.
In the closing seconds of the video, the action jumped ahead a few years and reintroduced Clementine from the first two Walking Dead Telltale games. And if you were hoping for good news about Clementine’s missing companions, then you’re gonna be disappointed!
If you absolutely need to get a disc, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will be released in stores on February 14th, 2017, with a sesason pass disc for Xbox One and Playstation 4; which will include the first episode and access to the remaining episodes when they are released. There will be five episodes in total, and since the first two are coming out on the same day, it should cut down on the wait between installments.
