The Ultimate VOLTRON Statue Will Cost You Over $1000

On Friday, June 10, Voltron is relaunching on Netflix with the Voltron: Legendary Defender animated series. But if you want to bring home the five robot lions of Voltron, the closest you can get to the real thing is gonna cost you a lot more than a Netflix subscription.

Sideshow Collectibles has unveiled its Voltron: Defender of the Universe collector maquette, and it is truly a thing of beauty. This statue takes its inspiration from the original Voltron animated series and it comes in at 27 inches tall, with 106 separate parts of polyresin, metal, and plastic. Naturally, there is a blazing sword for Voltron and the eyes light up in the robot head and in the lions for an added touch of awesome. But the price is far more daunting than any of King Zarkon’s Robeasts. For only $1,250, plus shipping and taxes, it could be yours!

Sideshow Collectibles is offering fans the ability to pay off this statue in monthly payments, but even then it may be beyond the reach of ordinary collectors. It should also be noted that the five lions are nondetachable, so you can’t break it apart into separate statues. Several photos of the statue have been released, and you can see the rest of the images in our gallery below.

The Voltron statue can be preordered here, and it’s expected to ship somewhere between May 2017 and July 2017. And if you want to get ready for the new Voltron animated series on Netflix, check out Kyle Anderson’s review here!

What do you think about Sideshow Collectibles’ new Voltron statue? And will you be adding that piece to your collection?
