The Ultimate Coachella Playlist For Your Roadtrip Through The Desert

Grab your spirit hood, ear plugs, and your buddy’s legalized weed, because the first weekend of Coachella is approaching at a rapid clip and all of the urban population of Southern California is preparing to descend upon the even-more-than-usually water parched desert of Indio to see way too much music in a 72-hour binge.

This might not be a popular opinion, but my favorite part of any music festival is the sojourn there, when you are mentally game-planning the next three days, just cruising on an interstate with your group of friends, listening to an excessively long playlist of all the bands you are excited to see when you get there. That way, by the time you have arrived to whatever Airbnb/shitty motel/camping situation you have lined up for yourself, you are already in the ZONE. Being in the ZONE is important, because if you are not in the ZONE, everyone will be able to tell and they’ll all be like, “Homie, why aren’t you in the ZONE like the rest of us?” (I have no idea what I am talking about).

So worry not! I have compiled the ULTIMATE COACHELLA 2015 SPOTIFY PLAYLIST for your journey out to the desert. The playlist is a 41-track mega compilation of some of my favorite bands that will be playing the fest, including newer acts (check out Sturgill Simpson) and incredible vintage acts (Steely Dan, everybody!). I have been testing this out in my car so I am pretty sure that it stacks up and will get you pretty pumped, whether you are heading to Coachella this year or not. Never hurts to have a big list of extremely catchy jams, right?  Check it out below, and be sure to let us know what you think on Twitter (@NerdistMusic) and in the comments!
