We’re going to get 201 days of The X-Files before the event series we’re oh-so looking forward to hits FOX in January. No, your eyes do not deceive you and yes this embarrassment of riches is real: the network will be marathoning the entire series in the lead-up to the January 24, 2016 premiere of Mulder and Scully’s return. THE TRUTH IS FINALLY OUT THERE! And it will be televised. All of it.
Also sorry, Rachel: I’m definitely going to call in sick for 201 days to watch this AWOOPS. (Editor’s Note: I’ll allow it. -RH)
The business was revealed in a new promo highlighting the alien goodtimes. But it wasn’t just a couple shots of old episodes that got us excited â oh no no! You see, the clip even features the slightest glimpse of new footage at the end, showing Mulder and Scully back together in all their alien-hunting glory.
It even has a bit of ominous dialogue â because of course â with Mulder asserting what we all want to believe. “I believe that what we’re looking for is in the X-Files. I’m more certain than ever that the truth is in there.” But not so fast, because here’s Scully responding with a bit of real talk, “I’ve heard the truth, Mulder. Now what I want are the answers.”
And answers we will get when the next head-trippy installment of longest-running sci-fi series in the history of American network television returns in a six-episode event series. Re-helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, we could not be more excited to see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return to the world as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
