THE TERMINATOR Gets Mashed Up with Duran Duran in New Parody Song

Director James Cameron’s The Terminator was one of the most instantly iconic movies of the ‘80s when it came out in 1984. Terminator was not only Arnold Schwarzenegger’s breakout film, it also heralded Cameron’s phenomenally successful career in Hollywood. While almost all of the subsequent Terminator sequels have featured Schwarzenegger’s T-800 as a heroic character, it can’t erase the memory of what a great villain he was in the original.

Musician Jeff Dutton a.k.a. Bonecage has paid tribute to Schwarzenegger’s hugely popular character by mashing up the story of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day in a parody song set to Duran Duran’s 1982 hit, “Hungry Like the Wolf.” The song even takes place from the P.O.V. of The Terminator as he sings about hunting down Sarah Connor before bringing the robot feels to his battle with the T-1000 and his sacrifice to save the future for John Connor. The VHS style visual effects and edits only enhance the ‘80s vibe from the video.

“Being a child in the ’80s and ’90s meant going to the video store and renting Terminator 1 and 2 every weekend… at least for me,” wrote Dutton on YouTube. “However, my appreciation for ’80s music did not come until later in life. So now, I’m 33, and here is a mash-up parody of ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ and Terminator 1 and 2.”

Earlier this summer, we featured Dutton’s mash up of Better Call Saul and the theme from Ghostbusters. But Dutton has several other mash ups and parody songs on his YouTube channel and his original recordings are available for sale on his Bandcamp page.
