The SUICIDE SQUAD Goes Artsy in New Character Posters

This Tuesday, DC will give fans an introduction to their cinematic universe with a special on the CW called Dawn of the Justice League, hosted by Geoff Johns and Kevin Smith. They will also premiere the new trailer for Suicide Squad.

For those of you not in the know, Suicide Squad tells the story of Task Force X, a team of supervillains sent on missions from the government in exchange for a reduced sentence. In preparation for Tuesday’s premiere, Warner Brothers has released character posters for the movie on various social media outlets. Luckily for you, we have them all right here.

Deadshot

Here is Deadshot, played by Will Smith. In the comics, he becomes the pseudo leader of the team. Mostly because he’s usually the only one not completely insane.

Boomerang

Jai Courtney plays Boomerang (I assume in the cinematic universe he hasn’t risen through the boomerang ranks to Captain just yet). Being from Austraila himself, it will be one of the few times we’ll get to hear Courtney’s real accent.

Harley Quinn

While Deadshot may be the leader of the team, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn looks to be the star. Other than the short-lived Birds of Prey and a small (to put it mildly) cameo on Arrow, this will be the first live-action version of Harley in her full glory.

Joker

There hasn’t been a casting reaction like this since, well, the LAST time the Joker was cast. Whatever Jared Leto brings to the table will definitely be something to see.

You can check out the rest of the gallery below. Get a good look, too. Since this IS the Suicide Squad, some of these characters WON’T be getting a second poster.

Suicide Squad
, also starring Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Cara Delevingne, opens in theaters August 5.

So what do you think? Which of these is your favorite? Which are you more excited for, Suicide Squad or Batman V Superman? Let me know on Twitter or activate the exploding microchip in your head in the comments below.
