The SUICIDE SQUAD Cast Champions Their Film in a New Press Conference Video

Only two more days until Suicide Squad opens in theaters everywhere, and in today’s Movie Morsels, we give you a chance to get up close and personal with the cast of the DC antihero epic. Plus, a cool new Kubo and the Two Strings video, the latest on Jason Statham‘s next project, and more!

Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad isn’t getting the greatest reviews in the world, though most critics seem to like it more than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Grimdark, and some have singled out Margot Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn for praise. Still, if you want to hear what director David Ayer and the cast have to say about the experience of making it, check out the following press conference video; hosted by DC Entertainment spokesperson Tiffany Smith…

Kubo and the Two Strings

Laika’s latest stop-motion fantasy extravaganza Kubo and the Two Strings, about a young warrior in ancient Japan, looks like a welcome break from the usual mainstream kids’ fare. To get us even more excited, the studio has kindly released a new interactive map of its protagonist’s world. Kubo is directed by Travis Knight—Nike founder Phil’s son–and stars the voices of Charlize Theron, Art Parkinson, Ralph Fiennes, Rooney Mara, George Takei and Matthew McConaughey. The film hits theaters on August 19.

Meg

Jessica McNamee

I’m looking forward to Jason Statham’s next movie as I’ve looked forward to no prior Statham film. Why? Because this time around the British action star is gonna take on mother nature herself, in the form of “the largest marine predator that ever existed”—a Carcharadon Megalodon, a.k.a. a friggin’ huge shark! Now, the film’s leading lady has been cast in the form of Australian actress Jessica McNamee. (Pictured above in USA’s comedy Sirens.)

Let Her Out

After all the big Hollywood franchise tentpoles we’ve had this summer, who’s up for a little indie horror? In the proud tradition of De Palma’s Sisters and Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers comes the Canadian creepy twin flick Let Her Out. It makes its debut on the opening night of London’s Horror Channel FrightFest this month, and it’s just been picked up for distribution by Black Fawn.

Storks

Finally today, we have the latest trailer for the CG-animated Storks, which should go a long way towards helping you explain to your little one where babies come from! Andy Samberg, Katie Crown, Kelsey Grammer, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Anton Starkman, Jennifer Aniston, Ty Burrell, Stephen Kramer Glickman, and Danny Trejo all lend their voices to the September 23 release. Enjoy.
