The STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer Awakens Parodies

Fans never cease to amaze me. Within mere hours of the release of the Star War: The Force Awakens trailer, fans posted fan art (which you can bet I will be highlighting in Fan Art Friday this week), custom action figures, and even jewelry. One guy managed to get a LEGO re-creation of the trailer up early the very next day. Impressive. Most impressive.

The parodies haven’t stopped since Friday and because I can’t get enough of anything related to The Force Awakens right now, I’ve watched several of them. These are some of my favorites:

The George Lucas special edition version by Michael Shanks might be the parody I like best. It features way too many digital extras like Jabba and a Force ghost, as well as an altered voiceover. The modifications to the Millennium Falcon chase scene made me laugh out loud.

If J.J. Abrams is involved, there are going to be jokes about lens flare. It’s just the way it is; people jumped all over the single lens flare in the actual trailer. This parody by Luke Fitch piles on the lens flare to such a degree that it’s almost hard to watch. Lens flares make Star Wars so sparkly.

How about taking scenes from the original trilogy and matching them to the ones we see in The Force Awakens trailer? Done. Jamie B. cut together footage from the first three Star Wars films, and it’s like it was meant to be.

Need a touch of Disney mixed in with your galaxy far, far away? They are all part of of the same world now, and Darren Wallace mashes them together to amusing effect. Stitch as the soccer ball droid and Jasmine and Aladdin flying on a magic carpet ride alongside the X-wings? Yes, please.

Another LEGO take? Of course. This is the internet. This one by Final Feature also went up the day after after the trailer was released because fans are awesome – and much more patient than I am.

Popcorn Arcade gathered some pals and put together a low budget interpretation of The Force Awakens trailer that is incredibly creative and silly. The appearance of the Sith in this one is so fantastic. Plus? An Oreo stands in for the Millennium Falcon.

Have you seen other parodies of The Force Awakens that must be watched? Share links in the comments or send them to me on Twitter.
