DAREDEVIL Season 2 Teaser Reveals a Menacing Punisher

Last week, Marvel and Netflix released a Daredevil season two promo video that featured Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) bound in chains and forced to listen to distant sounds of gunfire. If we were placing a bet, we’d say that the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) was responsible for trapping the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. And he’s just getting started.

The Punisher is the focus of a brand new Daredevil season two teaser, and it looks like there’s more bad news for the Man without Fear. The Punisher is holding Daredevil’s mask, which suggests that he’ll be one of the few characters to learn about Matt’s double life as a vigilante. If so, that’s a huge disadvantage for Daredevil. The Punisher doesn’t bother hiding his face, but Matt has everything to lose if his identity gets out.

Before he was the Punisher, Frank Castle was a family man who lost his loved ones to violence. It’s not clear if Daredevil’s second season will reflect the Punisher’s origin or present him as a fully formed villain upon entry. (There are still several rumors that the Punisher may get his own Netflix series, which could suggest that his origin won’t be featured until that project materializes.)

As for his costume, the early photos have featured Castle without his signature Punisher skull shirt, but that will probably change before the end of the 13 episode second season of Daredevil. We’ll learn more when the new episodes hit Netflix on Friday, March 18.

What did you think about the latest promo for Daredevil season two? Do you think that Castle will discover Daredevil’s secret identity? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
