“The Meltdown” Tops LA Weekly’s L.A. Standup Comedy Show List

A big hand, everyone, for our own Kumail Nanjiani, Jonah Ray, Emily Gordon, and everyone at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown Comics: The weekly comedy showcase The Meltdown has been named the best standup comedy show in Los Angeles by LA Weekly.

Nice.  Very, very nice.

The Weekly’s Julie Seabaugh posted her list of the “10 Best Standup Comedy Shows in Los Angeles” today at the paper’s website, and The Meltdown topped the list. Also making the cut was The Set List, which is, on occasion, at NerdMelt as well; it was number three, right behind Comedy Bang! Bang! at the UCB Theater and ahead of some other great showcases like The Super Serious Show and Paul F. Tompkins at Largo at the Coronet. So this is quite an honor.  In the article, Seabaugh writes, “hanging out in the scruffy back room of a comic-book shop has never been so justifiably cool.”  Scruffy? Hey, there’s air conditioning now!

We’re so proud of our guys….

Oh, and it’s every Wednesday night. Are you in the L.A. area?  You should go.
