It makes complete sense that Phil’s first sci-fi book pitch was, essentially, Samurai Jack. A great episode all round!

  2. Alec says:

There’s something about voice actors that gives an interview a 10% boost. Phil’s no exception.

This episode is amazing, I love Phil LaMarr and getting to learn more about him is awesome. Love his Sidney Poitier impression, i had to rewind it and listen to it again cause it was adorably amazing, and his MASH results! I like your voices together, definitely a geek moment for me to hear Green Lantern and Korra together lol.

It’s always great to hear Phil LaMarr on a podcast, as he’s always entertaining and fascinating. This was no exception… always love episodes that can both make me laugh AND think. The discussion of religion was really interesting. You both touched on how I feel it’s best to “advertise” one’s faith, for lack of a better term. I’m religious, but I get frustrated with so many of the people who are of the “do as I say, not as I do” camp. I always TRY to do exactly what you both said, by being a good person instead of quoting a bunch of rules… the people who do invariably forget about ones they’re not interested in following, anyway.

But on to a very serious subject… dog farts. (On a side note, I really hope that’s the first time that statement has ever been uttered in human history, but I somehow doubt it.) Two things that might be a factor. One, you mentioned changing his food. When I switched dry food with my dogs, I’d usually mix some of the old in with the new. Particularly if the food’s richer than they’re used to, it can lead to an upset stomach. Second, you might try all natural foods. Our cat Jackson is a manx, but the lack of tail also means his digestive system doesn’t work all that well, and he had a MAJOR gas problem. We switched to an all natural formula and that seemed to help out quite a bit.

Still slowly going through my Complete Conan Chronicles… I read the first Elric book but couldn’t bother reading the rest (and those aren’t massive tomes). But with Game of Thrones, I recommend the audiobooks. Though I’m afraid Roy Dotrice may not be there when the books are all done, assuming GRRM doesn’t pull a Robert Jordan himself. And speaking of Robin Hood in space, we all remember Rocket Robin Hood, right?
