With a style that screams “’60s space age,” these custom cabinet arcade games are just what each and every one of our homes need. Sadly, they’re in limited supply and a bit pricey, but man oh man are they pretty.
According to the designer and craftsman over at LoveHultén.com, the description of their Pixelkabinett 42 is almost as beautiful as the product itself:
A unique handmade full-size coin-op arcade cabinet for two players, inspired by old industrial cabinets, vintage mixing consoles and early space travels. The retro futuristic body stands on four unique rocket nozzle like feet. These can be removed or replaced. The cabinet is decorated by a glowing planetarium on the front and an engraved saturn speaker grill. The folding top keep dust away when not in use.
The Pixelkabinett 42 comes in a numbered limited edition of 50. These made-to-order cabinets can be customized in many ways to suit any customer needs.
The best part? It comes equipped MAME ready. That’s “Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator” if you’re not a fan of acronyms. What that means for you is that you can load an astonishingly massive amount of classic games to it with a fair amount of accuracy to how they were back in the day at a real arcade.
Everything about this cabinet system is gorgeous. Notice the rocket booster-like feet and the fact that it folds down like an old ’60s appliance. Every aspect to this space-age chic design would do just as well in an art gallery as it would in an arcade. Check out the gallery below of all the beautiful details the Pixelkabinett 42 has to offer.
