THE GIFTED Stars Reveals Which X-MEN Character Cameos They Want On the Show

While the months of lead-up to The Gifted were shrouded in mystery, Fox’s new comic book series hit the ground running with Monday night’s premiere. The series kicked things off knee deep in a world where the X-Men “brotherhood” has disappeared and mutants are left to fend for themselves against a government hunting them down. Being a mutant isn’t technically illegal, but using your powers is. So when video of teen Andy Strucker’s (Percy Hynes White) fledgling mutant powers manifesting during a school dance (saving him from bullies but putting an entire gym full of students in danger) hit the internet, he and his sister Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) were forced to confess their mutant DNA to their parents Caitlin (Amy Acker) and Reed (Stephen Moyer), and then to hit the road for safer pastures.

With classic X-Men characters, well-done special effects, and an emotionally gripping family story at the center of it all, The Gifted started off on quite the high note. But the cast members have some ideas on how the Fox drama can get even better from here: cameos from all their favorite X-Men movie stars.

“I’ve gotten asked this question and I know it immediately,” Lind told Nerdist on the set of The Gifted in Atlanta of who she wants to see appear this season. “Storm… She’s my favorite X-Men, I’m a huge Halle Berry fan. I love her power, I think it’s so cool.”

And she wasn’t the only one dying to see an original X-Men movie star, as Sean Teale, who plays Eclipse, giddily replied, “Who doesn’t want to work with Sir Patrick Stewart?”

“I think that would be excellent,” Blair Redford, who plays John Proudstar a.k.a. Thunderbird, agreed, as Teale then went on to list off Magneto (Ian McKellen) as his dream pick. Just think of the family drama that could bring if Magneto popped up on The Gifted to educate Polaris on her powerful mutant legacy!
