First STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS TV Spot Teases Generational Connections

Now that we have all slightly recovered from the final Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, as well as the international trailer, Disney and Lucasfilm have released the film’s first TV Spot through Twitter today. The commercial featured a lot of footage we have seen from previous trailers for the film, but there were a few shots that had not appeared previously, and a new voiceover piece included in it.

It has yet to be officially confirmed, but the running theory pins Lupita Nyong’o as the one speaking in the voiceovers for this commercial, as well as the final trailer, hinting at the familial link one of our new characters may have with a previous Star Wars character. This sharing of “the same eyes in different people,” as well as the commercial tag line referring to this being a new generation’s story, all point to the popular opinion that at least one character will be a young Skywalker or Solo.

We also got quick glimpses of shots we haven’t seen in other promotional material yet. These include Han Solo on a snowy landscape, and Rey quickly taking out an assailant with her staff while still on Jakku. These shots weren’t anything too revealing or mind-blowing, but at this point, absolutely anything new and different is welcomed by us Star Wars fans, and will be analyzed to death by at least one person on the internet.

Let us know all of your parents and children theories for the movie in the comments below!
