The First RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 Trailer Looks Fantastic

After six years, Rockstar Games has finally revealed the much-anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2. And even though we’ll have to wait almost a full year to play it ourselves, the first trailer has dropped us back into the open world Western!

The new footage from Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t offer much in the way of gameplay and story, and we’re not even sure if the unnamed protagonist in these clips is John Marston, the star of the Red Dead Redemption. But the video does show off the power of the current console generation with gorgeous Western vistas and stunning visuals. Somehow, we suspect that this is barely the tip of the iceberg.

Unfortunately, the video is also frustratingly vague about the exact era and other details. But it does offer an ominous piece of advice for the lead character: “When the time comes, you gotta run and don’t look back.”

Near the end of the footage, we get a glimpse of the seven riders who appeared in the early promo art for the game that was released earlier this week. The riders went by far too quickly to get a really good look at them, but they were covering their faces with bandanas, which suggests that they are outlaws. But it’s too soon to tell if players will be able to step into their boots as well.

Rockstar Games will release Red Dead Redemption 2 in fall 2017, and we’ll be eagerly watching for any new updates about it.
