The Doubleclicks Release 2 Amazing STEVEN UNIVERSE Covers

The Doubleclicks are a sister duo made up of Angela and Aubrey Webber known for creating amazing covers of some of our favorite songs as well as their original songs like “Oh, Mr. Darcy” and “The Nerdy Birthday Song.” Most recently, they did a tremendous cello cover of the song “History Has Its Eyes On You” from Hamilton, and now they’re back at it with another spectacular cover.

In their latest video, we see Angela (with purple hair and a Steven tee, of course) and Aubrey (rocking a pink wig and some impressive Rose Quartz cosplay) singing a mashup of the songs “Let Me Drive My Van Into Your Heart” and “Giant Woman!” from the groundbreaking and lovable cartoon, Steven Universe. Angela sings and plays the guitar and ukulele while Aubrey sings and plays cello. Just like everything The Doubleclicks do, it’s a beautifully done cover, and in addition to Angela and Aubrey’s musical talents you can also see their personal passion for the cartoon.

So out of all of the cartoons on the planet, why did The Doubleclicks cover songs from Steven Universe? Angela explained, saying, “Steven Universe is an incredible show. It’s one of our favorites. The messages of friendship and alternative families and positivity despite differences are extremely important, especially now! They work hard, they love each other, they save the world, they sing songs. It’s who we want to be. That’s why we decided to release a cover two of our favorite songs from the show in between releasing a few serious original songs we’ve been writing. Plus, Giant Woman just makes us feel good.”

You certainly can’t help feeling good watching their cheerful cover, and even if you’ve never seen the cartoon before, Aubrey and Angela certainly portray the cartoon’s positive, encouraging vibe. Plus, the medley is just so infectious, you’ll be singing it for the rest of the day. If you want to see The Doubleclicks live to get some of that musical joy IRL, be sure to check out their tour schedule or try to catch one of their online shows.

So check out the video above, and let us know what you think of The Doubleclicks’ Steven Universe cover, as well as your favorite songs from the cartoon!
